Hi all

As part of my birthday, I want to go and see a film. Does anyone have one to recommend? I thought of Up in the Air, or Nine. I don't like anything to do with politics, or any violence and blood.

Any ideas?

Lyn

Hi Lyn,
Ive only seen girlie ones lately! It was St Trinians yesterday with my girls... BUT we did see a clip for Nine which definitely looks VERY good but still not quite sure what its all about... lots of stars in it i noticed... Daniel Day Lewis, Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Sophia Loren, Dame Judi and more...
Up in the Air.... is that George Clooney? Then that would be good choice too! ;)
Hope you have a good time whichever film you see - our local cinema do matinee afternoons with free tea/ coffees and biccies so my sister and i are going early in Feb for our grown up girlie treat but not sure what's on yet....
Have fun love Liz xx

Hi Lyn,

I went to see Sherlock last week. It was very exciting. I'm going to see Avatar this week, so will let you know what it's like.

Up in the Air is calm, absorbing, has great character acting and no violence or direct politics. Fascinating subject and nice writing. Saw it unexpectedly on Saturday and really enjoyed it. Not sure why its Oscar nominated, but I don't mean to say anything other than it is an excellent film. Just no great new baoundaries crossed or stick with you for life stand out acting. In my opinion.
